A Royal Connection
Our newly refurbished Bertie’s Bar is themed and named after King Edward VII AKA Bertie, the eldest son of Prince Albert and Queen Victoria. Bertie was born in 1841 in London and was well known for being the life and soul of the party, loving horse racing, shooting, drinking, women and eating far more than fulfilling his royal duties.
It’s believed that he had champagne and lobster for breakfast, his mealtimes often consisted of 8+ courses and he, like us, loved a tipple or two.
