Clovelly Christmas lights switch on in aid of the R.N.L.I.
The Christmas lights at Clovelly are growing popular year on year, and are truly stunning to see!
The 2nd December 2018 is the big switch on day, when a party takes place to raise money for the R.N.L.I.
The Christmas lights switch on is a magical moment. It all starts at 3:30 in the afternoon when the local brass band leads a procession down to the harbour where festive carols will be sung by a local church choir.
In the harbour, found down the cobbled, quaint and car-free streets, there’ll be food such as a hog roast, hot dogs and traditional Christmas grog.
Father Christmas will make a surprise visit for the children. Then at about 5pm the switch is thrown and the entire village and harbour lights up. It’s a fantastic sight!
Following this, the grand finale fireworks will light up the sky, finishing the festivities off perfectly.
The village will be open to the public as normal during the day. Then from 3pm it's just £5 to park in the main car park and enter the village to enjoy the occasion!
