Marcus Trescothick's Trestimonial Bike Ride 2018
The cricketer, Marcus Trescothick, is inviting people to cycle with him during a charity cycle ride from Bristol to St Austell in Cornwall - to raise funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). And Brend Hotels is pleased to be involved.
The Marcus Trescothick's ‘Trestimonial’ Bike Ride 2018 will see the 42-year-old ex-English cricketer cycle from Bristol, through Somerset to North Devon, before heading to the South Devon coast and going on to Cornwall and St Austell.
He’ll be doing the journey over 5 days, from the 8th to 12th October 2018. On each day, he’ll be completing a set section of the route, travelling from one destination to another.
Himself and nine of his friends will cycle from Keynsham Cricket Club, where Marcus began his cricketing career, to the CHSW Little Harbour Hospice in St Austell.
Along the way he’ll be stopping at two other hospices; Charlton Farm in North Somerset and Little Bridge House in Barnstaple, Devon.
The challenge will also include visits to local schools, cricket clubs and businesses along the way to promote the work of CHSW, whilst also offering cricket tuition to junior cricketers.
This is not the first time Marcus has raised funds for the Children’s Hospice South West, a cause close to his heart that he has been supporting for over 10 years.
But this time around, there will also be a unique opportunity for members of the public to ride alongside Marcus. For each day, a pre-selected group are invited to cycle with him so they can also raise their own money for a worthy course.
