In the Alcoholic Beverage Service - Wine Service Standard, apprentices will learn about:

A variety of wine styles

  • Popular grape varieties and their basic characteristics
  • Wine and food pairing in line with our menus and how to inform customers
  • The equipment required to store and serve wines
  • The conditions required for optimum wine quality

30/40 hours per week


You could continue on to the Management Academy and the Level 3 qualification - Hospitality Supervisor Apprenticeship or Team Leader, with a view to become a sommelier or wine steward.

Earning potential*:

Bar manager: £14,927 - £27,820
