Barista Standard

In the Barista Standard, apprentices will learn about:

  • The main categories and types of hot and cold beverages
  • The methods of preparing and serving a variety of coffees
  • How different ingredients should be stored
  • Origins of key ingredients 
  • Identifying specialist equipment, how to use it correctly and keep it clean and hygienic

12 months

Hours:

30/40 hours per week

Further Progression:

You could continue on to the Management Academy and the Level 3 qualification, Hospitality Supervisor Apprenticeship or Team Leader, with a view to become a coffee shop/cafe bar manager.
