A Wonderful Evening Supporting aRemarkable Cause
On Saturday 11th May, our head office team walked 10-miles from Bideford to Barnstaple, in a heartfelt show of support for the North Devon Hospice Nightwalk. As headline sponsors of this inspiring event, our head office team walked alongside 1,000 remarkable women, all united in the memory of loved ones and supporting a cause that gives back to our community.
Choosing to be the headline sponsor for this event was an easy decision, given our ongoing support for the North Devon Hospice. In the weeks leading up to the event, our dedicated team engaged in various fundraising activities, including a bake sale, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to supporting this invaluable charity. Supporting the world around us is a core value of ours, and making a meaningful impact in the community is always at the forefront of our minds.
Starting Strong
Upon arriving at Bideford Rugby Club, our team felt inspired by the large turnout of women there to support the North Devon Hospice. Witnessing the impressive turnout of women at the event reinforced just how many individuals rely on hospice care during challenging times. Being part of an event that is not only enjoyable but also deeply rooted in supporting our community added a meaningful layer to the experience.
Midway Milestones
En route, there was plenty to keep the morale going with the hospice having organised an array of 80s-themed entertainment. Participants experienced a wave of nostalgia, complete with an Indiana Jones-inspired tunnel display, the iconic car from Ghostbusters and musicians dotted along the way. These thoughtful additions played a crucial role in sustaining the energy of everyone involved, ensuring a motivated march to the finish.
The Final Stretch
Crossing the finish line was a bittersweet experience for our head office team. Emotions surged as we completed the 10-mile journey together, each of us reflecting on our personal motivations for participating in the event. Throughout the event, the presence of hospice volunteers and workers was immensely comforting. Their unwavering support not only kept us going but also served as a reminder of the hospice's dedication to assisting many during their most challenging times.
