That’s why we’re excited to celebrate Hospitality Apprenticeship Week by shining a spotlight on just a few of our amazing apprentices, who are thriving and growing within our hotels, restaurants and spas.
We work closely with our apprentices, guiding them every step of the way as they kickstart their careers. Whether it’s in the kitchen, front of house, or behind the scenes in event planning and management, our apprentices gain real-world experience that lays a strong foundation for a future in hospitality.

Apprenticeship: Hospitality Team Member at The Park Hotel
What do you enjoy most about working at The Park hotel?
"What I enjoy most about working at the hotel is the amazing people I’ve met and the great friendships I’ve formed. The experience has taught me so much and opened up new perspectives for my future."
What are your goals after completing the apprenticeship?
"After finishing my apprenticeship, I hope to travel the world. With a hospitality qualification, I'll be able to work while exploring new places, as it’s a skill that’s recognised anywhere."
What skills or knowledge have you found most valuable in your daily tasks?
"During my apprenticeship, I’ve acquired many new skills, including the use of IT and our everyday booking systems. This has broadened my knowledge of online and technology-based tools. The skills I’ve gained will be valuable for my future beyond the apprenticeship."

Apprenticeship: Level 2 Hospitality Apprenticeship with Events Specialism at The Devon Hotel
What inspired you to choose an apprenticeship at The Devon Hotel?
"I have always wanted to work in events, so when I saw an opening at The Devon Hotel I knew it was an opportunity I couldn’t miss out on!"
What do you enjoy most about working at The Devon Hotel?
"I enjoy speaking to customers, meeting their needs and desires regarding how they want their event to be, and then working with them on the day of their event to ensure they have a great experience with us. It is the most rewarding part of my apprenticeship."
What advice would you give to someone considering an apprenticeship in the hospitality industry?
"The advice I would give to someone considering an apprenticeship in the hospitality industry would be to go for it! It is a fantastic way to qualify for something you enjoy whilst earning a wage."

Apprenticeship: Level 3 Hospitality Supervisor Apprenticeship at The Royal & Fortescue Hotel & 62 The Bank
In what ways has this apprenticeship helped you prepare for your future career?
"The apprenticeship has prepared me with a deeper understanding of the hospitality industry rather than just front-of-house service and knowledge. I have learnt skills about law and legislation, and health and safety that I can take into other roles later on in my career and that will also help me with life in general"
What are your goals after completing the apprenticeship?
" My main goal is to begin working my way up the management ladder and take on more responsibilities throughout the hotel. I hope to carry on expanding my knowledge by completing the level 4 apprenticeship next."

What have you enjoyed most about your apprenticeship?
"My favourite part of the apprenticeship has been expanding my knowledge and learning new skills that I can put into practice in my job. I've also enjoyed working alongside my colleagues Yasmine and Hallie and receiving support from my trainer Nic."
What have you enjoyed most about working at The Royal & Fortescue Hotel?
"I enjoy working with my team but also relish the time I work behind Bar 62 and having the independence to create different drinks for each customer."
In what ways has this apprenticeship helped you prepare for your future career?
"The way this apprenticeship has helped me prepare for my future career is to always work hard, learn new skills and achieve goals when possible!"

Apprenticeship - Level 7 Senior Leadership Apprenticeship with Masters in Business
Can you tell us about the apprenticeship you're currently studying?
"I am learning about advanced leadership skills and strategic planning, all of which apply to my role at Brend Collection. It’s a really effective way of expanding my theoretical knowledge and applying hands-on experience."
Could you tell us a bit more about apprenticeships with Brend Collection?
"Apprenticeships span across all areas and Brend Collection is deeply committed to the development of its employees. As one of the company's core values, they create opportunities for people to grow and apprenticeships are a big part of that. As an apprentice, you are given real responsibility and opportunities to apply what you learn in a meaningful way. There is a clear path of career progression and apprenticeships support the development of this. "
What advice would you give to anyone considering an apprenticeship, particularly those who might not have thought of it as a path for them?
"GO FOR IT! Apprenticeships really are for everyone, regardless of age, experience or career level. The hospitality industry values a diverse range of skills and it is never too late to learn something new or develop your current skill set to further your career. An apprenticeship with Brend Collection is not about just taking on a job, it is about an opportunity to grow as individuals. You will gain valuable qualifications, develop new skills and open up new career possibilities all while working in one of the most exciting industries. Brend Collection is a fantastic place to learn and grow and I am grateful to be able to do the Level 7 Apprenticeship to further my knowledge while applying it to my role."
