Reopening Refurbishment at Brend Hotels
We’ve been extremely busy behind the scenes completing refurbishments across all of our hotels and restaurants in order to prepare to reopen from 17th May. We’d like to thank both our in-house maintenance and interior design team for all of their hard work during this lockdown who have worked tirelessly to ensure that our hotels are looking their best when we welcome you back.
It won’t be long until you're back now so take a look at what we’ve been up to since we last saw you below.
The Royal Duchy Hotel in Falmouth has continued investing during lockdown and has completely refurbished 2 rooms including a full refurbishment of the bathroom suite, carpet, soft furnishings and furniture, as well as replacing all bedroom doors on both floors with new modern doors with electronic keycard entry replacing the need for rooms to have keys.
The hotel have also taken the opportunity to minimise the disruption while they were closed to paint the front of the hotel and perform essential maintenance including the maintenance of the Royal Duchy sign.
At Saunton we’ve not just applied a fresh lick of paint to the walls and added some new furnishings (although this has been done), but we have refurbished the entire 4th floor corridor with new carpets, new decor and new bedroom doors and key locks.
On top of that, our maintenance teams have been busy replastering and painting the apartment building, replacing the fence around the front and restoring the steps to the front door entrance. We can’t wait for you to come and see what we’ve been up to.
From a complete Bar 62 makeover to a restoration project of our 17th century ceiling - 62 The Bank has certainly been busy! Bar 62 has had a complete Brend Hotel makeover with new wallpaper, paint, chairs & lights giving them a modern new look ready for the fun to begin May 17th.
And Bar 62 are not the only ones that have had a makeover, the 17th century Jacobean ceiling in 62 The Bank has had a complete transformation with a new painted ceiling which is now even more of a wow factor than it was before. With an all new colour it has given it a complete new lease of life and we can’t wait for you to see.
Making the most of the undistributed time we've had a new energy-efficient heating system fitted, although this is minimal compared to the fantastic refurbishments taking place across the group, you cannot deny the appeal of a steamy shower after a day of exploring the picturesque countryside.
Along with our new heating system, our bedroom refurbishments have continued with bedrooms, outdoor bedrooms including new balcony.
Improvements at The Imperial Hotel haven't stopped and our maintenance team has been busy over the last few months refurbishing more bedrooms and painting the outside of our hotel.
Our ongoing refurbishment continues but this time with bedroom and bathroom refurbishments taking the spotlight. Our in-house maintenance and interior design team have been working hard to make sure nothing is far from perfection when we reopen on May 17th.
Carriages Brasserie and lounge bar is in the process of being given an impressive renovation. As one of Exeter’s busiest venues it has always been difficult to find the time to refurbish to the level desired.
The refurbishment has been meticulously planned to create an environment where the tradition of the original manor house meets contemporary styling. Subtle changes to the fundamentals have allowed us to reimagine the space with the sole focus of the guest.
So, what’s changed? A contemporary and stylish colour palette, new tables, soft leather chairs and artworks, air conditioning throughout & versatile lighting solutions so that we can create a sophisticated atmosphere.
The Belmont Hotel has been busy refurbishing another four bedrooms & bathrooms, adding bespoke hospitality units to each which include a mini-fridge and safe, and two of which now also feature a user-friendly walk-in shower.
The Victoria Hotel has been busy during lockdown upgrading all door locks, the Victoria Bar which is now ‘Bertie’s Bar’, and our outside pool changing rooms and toilets have also been refurbished.
All bedrooms have now been upgraded to door key cards, a much more modern, safer, and efficient upgrade for every bedroom.
Our main bar at The Victoria Hotel is being transformed and rebranded as “Bertie’s Bar”, named after Queen Victoria’s son who himself became King in 1901. As well as a full refurbishment designed and executed by our own interiors & maintenance team, the area will feature a brand new bespoke bar handmade in Devon and an all-out cocktail menu, inspired by Bertie himself.
Our outside pool changing rooms have been completely refurbished with brand new toilets, changing room, and corridor ensuring more space for our guests so they can focus on enjoying the incredible facilities.
Alongside welcoming essential travelers throughout the pandemic and providing essential accommodation to these guests, The Barnstaple Hotel has undergone some invigorating cosmetic changes.
The renovations have focused on the refurbishment of 12 rooms, completely modernising and brightening the space. Of the rooms refurbished, 6 are family pool view rooms and 4 double signature rooms which now feature double sofa beds, fridges and a safe. There have also been changes made to the state room, which boasts a double room with double sofa bed, fridge, safe, dressing gowns and interconnecting with a small twin\double room.
The Taw Suite which has previously been a function/family room during the summer is currently undergoing refurbishments to juvenate the space into a permanent bedroom which will feature a double bed and 2 extra beds (double or twins) sofa, lounge area and interconnects with Bray Suite - The Taw Suite won't be ready until June!
The Royal Hotel has taken this unforeseen opportunity whilst disruption to guests was minimised, to freshen up the exterior of the hotel with a fresh lick of paint. We’ve also had a new boiler fitted, although this is minimal compared to the fantastic refurbishments taking place across the group, you cannot deny the appeal of a steamy shower after a day of exploring the picturesque countryside.
The Royal Hotel is now just waiting on 17th May to give all guests a warm welcome back.
Carlyon Bay has undergone lots of work behind the scenes including 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms refurbishments, painting of the outside of the hotel, toilet refurbishment, new lock system and the complete renovation of the shared balcony.
The outside of our hotel has had a fresh lick of paint ready for the busy summer months ahead, along with brand new bedroom locks on every door.
At the golf course, we’ve renovated several tee areas as well as the 13th tee hospitality area, and not forgetting our Gardner Neil has been busy with his gardens around the replanting of all of our incredible plants.
While The Park Hotel hasn’t undergone any major renovations, they’ve been super busy (alongside The Devon Hotel in Exeter) welcoming essential travellers throughout the pandemic and providing essential accommodation to these guests.
